Where is the best place to sit?
If you've never been to Radio City Music Hall, you're in for a treat. I've been to a few venues and the decor, sound and seating plan (i.e. configuration) for Radio City is top notch.
Orchestra:
All orchestral sections are great. My only warning is that if you are considering seats in the 100 or 700 seats (most left and right sections), make sure your seats are closer to the interior aisle. Additionally, row NZ (in section 400 of the orchestra) is hidden by the soundboard.
Mezzanine:
All mezzanine sections hang above the orchestra. However, there is a difference between 1st mezzan and 3rd mezzanine seats, but your budget will most likely dictate where you sit. I, if possible, would avoid the 100 and 700 sections, and I personally would prefer to sit in the 300 section of the 2nd mezzanine versus the 100 section of the first mezzanine.
With the exception of a few obstructed seats - such as the middle section (400) of the 2nd mezzanine - I believe that every seat in Radio City Music Hall is a good one.
The best places:
If you want to see the Christmas Spectacle (or a similar show), you will not want to sit in the first 13 rows (AA-LL), but instead sit rows MM through ZZ (so you can see the entire stage). The middle sections of the 1st mezzanine also offer spectacular views.
They wear wireless microphones in their shoes to amplify the sounds of their tap dancing - and these microphones pick up every sound. This is why dancers need to be extra careful when doing footwork on stage.
