It is a real insider tip and New Yorkers have been enjoying their classic cocktails here for over 100 years. It used to be the place where people went for the “ see and be seen ” typical of New York. But then at some point it was just a really great place accessible to everyone.
Some time ago the bar was completely renovated by the Gerber Group and everything was changed to how it originally looked. Includes a 25 foot ceiling painting. So it's a really great and impressive place that you should check out. There used to be a very strict dress code. This no longer exists today. But still dress up if you want. The bar was named after John W. Campbell , a banker who rented the place in 1923 for legendary after-work parties. Today's investment bankers also enjoy an after-work drink here after a long day on Wall Street.
The bar is open from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. every day and, in addition to special drink options such as “ happy hour ,” you can enjoy your drinks particularly well with the delicious small snacks that the Campbell Bar also offers.
