If you are taking a trip to New York, a day trip to Washington DC is a good idea because it is so close (4 hours drive). This means you can visit the most famous places and sights in the American capital in a short time. You travel on a bus that leaves New York at 7 a.m. - through the states of New Jersey, Delaware (this is half time and a toilet and breakfast break) and Maryland before you reach your destination: Washington DC
Depending on traffic, you'll be back in New York around 9 o'clock in the evening.
If you would like to spend a little more time in Washington or explore it on your own, I have listed the main sights for you below.

Even though the house is monitored by numerous security guards and cannot be visited, numerous people make a pilgrimage to the barrier to take a look at the center of power, the USA.
After all, the most powerful man in the world lives here and American and world history is written from here every day.

The gigantic monument built in honor of Abraham Lincoln, who ended slavery and was one of four presidents to be assassinated. Inside the monument, the president sits on a chair, six meters high, made of white marble. From here you have a great view of the Reflecting Pool, in which the Washington Monument is reflected.
On the stairs once stood Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during his famous “I have a dream” speech.
