It is well known that Germans love beer and so it is no wonder that many of the best varieties are brewed in Germany . But you can also find delicious beer in America that doesn't have to come from abroad. Since 1988 there has been a brewery in Brooklyn (a neighboring borough of Manhattan), the Brooklyn Brewery, which is known for its good and inexpensive beer. While many people enjoy drinking a beer at a great bar in New York, others prefer a little more action and want to learn how beer is made. The brewery in Brooklyn offers such an offer and you can see how the different varieties are brewed there. Varieties such as Brooklyn Lager, Defender IPA, Brooklyn Sorachi Ace Saison, Brooklyn Pilsner, Brooklyn Easy IPA, American Ale, Scorcher IPA are produced here for all of America and also for international trade.
Unfortunately you can't eat in the brewery. For those who don't like drinking beer, there are other drinks such as water and soft drinks.
Free tours are offered every Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday. You have to get your tickets from the Comapny Store about an hour before the tour starts. Unfortunately, tickets are often sold out and you have to be lucky to get tickets. Alternatively, there are paid tours from Monday to Thursday between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., for which you can reserve tickets in advance. The price is $18 per ticket. You must be 21 years old to take the tours. However, there is a special area in which people under 21 are also allowed to stay.
