The beautiful shop windows of New York's large department stores make Christmas shopping an experience. It's a million-dollar business and the competition between the big department stores is immense. Here you will find the greatest exhibitions.
1. Saks Fifth Avenue

This year, in honor of Snow White's eightieth anniversary and the Seven Dwarfs, all fourteen Saks windows on Fifth Avenue were decorated with a theme. You will find scenes from the famous fairy tale and even the seven dwarves singing their very famous song. In addition, the windows between 49th and 50th Streets were decorated by four designers (Alberta Ferretti, Naeem Khan, Monique Lhuillier and Marchesa), reimagining Snow White's clothing in the 21st century version.
2. Macy's
151 W 34th St., New York 10001
The Macy's store in Herald Square featured the story " The Perfect Gift Brings People Together " in its windows this year. The six shop windows show various traditional scenes of family gatherings before the arrival of the big moment: the visit of Santa Claus with his gifts.
3. Lord and Taylor
424 Fifth Ave, New York
Lord & Taylor is one of the most famous luxury department stores and its windows are lavishly decorated for Christmas every year. This year the show is titled " The Best and the Brightest " and features five windows that give viewers the idea of viewing the scene through a snow globe. You can see two polar bears, a view of the skyscrapers of the New York skyline during a starry night and a circus and other beautiful views.
4. Bloomingdale's
1000 Third Ave, New York 10022
In celebration of Christmas, Bloomingdale's has partnered with the film The Greatest Showman in the US on December 20th. The windows, as well as the film, celebrate visionary and circus entrepreneur PT Barnum with circus acts and shiny clothes of all kinds. In fact, more than 7,600,000 Swarovski crystals were used to embellish costumes and props!
5. Barney's
660 Madison Ave, New York
You won't find Santa Claus, snow, or anything signifying the holidays in the windows of this luxury department store this year. The theme chosen for this year is " Haas For the Holidays " and has staged five creative interpretations of planet Earth through different eras. You can also expect incredible lighting effects, as these five windows contain the advanced LED by Christie lighting technologies.
6. Bergdorf Goodman
754 Fifth Ave, New York 10019
The theme of this luxury store's windows this year is " To New York With Love, " and in the seven windows you'll find numerous iconic New York attractions richly decorated, like the American Museum of Natural History's dinosaurs completely covered in sparkling Swarovski crystals .
