Century 21 announced that there will be a “New York City comeback.” The iconic store across from the World Trade Center will open this spring.
Opening date: May 16, 2023.
I'll wait for more details, but they will be partnering with a company, as announced on Century 21's website, "to provide a revitalized shopping experience for Century 21's loyal local - and global - fans."
It sounds like a lot of things will stay the same as they once were.
"This partnership will combine Legends' omnichannel operating expertise with Century 21's expert curation of designer brands at amazing prices to provide fans of the iconic brand an enhanced shopping experience in-store and online," the company website says. “The reopened Cortlandt Street location will span the four main floors of the original indoor space and offer designer apparel, shoes, outerwear, handbags, accessories and fragrances for men, women and children.”

Century 21 was founded in 1961 by Al Gindi and is still run by the family today. “Our father started this business 60 years ago. We are committed to continuing the legacy,” IG Gindi, co-CEO, told Women's Wear Daily. The store closed in the fall of 2020 when the company filed for bankruptcy and closed stores across the country.
