Say "cheese" at these fun and very photogenic spots in New York
The Big Apple is the perfect place to take the perfect (and honestly, completely unrealistic) photo of you, your kids, family or friends for this year's Christmas cards. Here are 10 places with pictures where you can take a million shots in the hope that one is really cute - and to have fun while you're there.
1. Dyker Heights
Two things that will immediately come to mind for the card recipient:
- The map is a photoshop
- You have discovered the Christmas fairytale land
A photo is a must here! Don't miss out on a visit to this gorgeous Brooklyn neighborhood, where the entire neighborhood competes to see who has the most beautifully decorated house. Our Christmas Lights Tour goes daily from December 1st to January 3rd to the Dyker Heights Christmas Lights .
2. NYC ice skating rink
Most of the city's ice skating rinks are open for the season - and they provide an excellent winter photographic backdrop. The classic rinks - at Bryant Park and Rockefeller Center - are always great, but I also love the rink at Brookfield Place with a great view of the Hudson River or Central Park . Brooklyn Lakeside Prospect Park features two outdoor ice rinks surrounded by 500 acres, a magical setting in the middle of the forest. On the roof of Pier 17 at South Street Seaport, an outdoor skater's oasis that should become family selfie heaven.
3. Rockefeller Center
The most famous place in the world at Christmas time with the most famous Christmas tree in the world. Everything looks so perfect at Rockefeller Center that if you haven't seen it with your own eyes, it seems unreal. A picture here is a must, whether for Christmas card purposes or not.
4. One World Observatory
One World Observatory, the indoor observatory, is having a "Winter ONEderland: A Christmas Experience Above the City" this year.
The special experience can be seen until January 7th, a unique observation deck transformed into a winter wonderland, located at a height of 200 m above the ground. Nothing compares to a photo at the top of New York on your Christmas card.
5. Lotte Hotel
This luxury hotel was made famous by the series Gossip Girl and there is a Christmas tree in the courtyard that just looks magical.
6. NYC Christmas Markets
Some will say, rightly, that there are wonderful Christmas markets at home too, but without the skyline or the Empire State Building in the background. Nothing connects Christmas and New York like a photo at a New York Christmas market. You can find the 5 most beautiful Christmas markets in the city here. CLICK
7. Oculus Station
If you want a Christmas card from the future, then you've come to the right place at Oculus. The futuristic train station has a Christmas market inside with Christmas houses and the glass Christmas tree, snowflakes are projected onto the ribbed frame and seen from the balcony, you have the feeling of celebrating Christmas in a spaceship.
8. NYC Christmas Trees
The most famous Christmas tree is at Rockefeller but New York still has some very famous and beautiful looking trees in very special places around the city. The immortal celebrities from Hollywood also take photos for a Christmas card with these trees, for example in the Plaza Hotel where Kevein was filmed alone in New York. Here you will find an exact selection. CLICK

10. The Edge
